Scrye is operated by Scrye Labs Pty Ltd (ACN 698 335 741) ("we", "us", "our"), a company registered in New South Wales, Australia. This policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your personal information when you use the Scrye platform at scrye.co.

By using Scrye, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

Scrye is intended for users aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, we will close their account and delete their data.

2. What information we collect

Account information

When you register, we collect your name, email address, and password (stored as a hash). Brands may also provide a company name and billing details.

Instagram data (creators)

If you connect your Instagram account, we access the following via the Meta Instagram API, with your explicit permission:

Your Instagram username, profile name, and profile picture
Your publicly published posts, captions, and media
Engagement metrics (likes, comments, reach) associated with your content
Follower count and basic audience demographics where available

We display this information to brands on the Scrye platform so they can evaluate potential collaborations. We cache certain metrics (such as follower counts and engagement rates) to improve platform performance. You can disconnect your Instagram account at any time via your Scrye account settings, which will remove your Instagram data from our platform.

TikTok data (creators)

If you connect your TikTok account, we access the following via the TikTok API, with your explicit permission:

Your TikTok username and profile information
Your publicly published videos and associated metadata
Engagement metrics associated with your content
Follower count and basic audience information where available

The same display, caching, and disconnection terms described above for Instagram apply equally to TikTok data.

Usage data

We collect standard technical data when you use the platform, including IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps. This is used for security, analytics, and platform improvement.

Payment data

Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your full card number or banking details — Stripe handles payment security in accordance with PCI DSS standards. We retain transaction records (amount, date, parties) for accounting and legal compliance purposes.

3. How we use your information

To operate the Scrye platform and facilitate brand–creator matching
To display creator profiles and content to prospective brand partners
To process payments and manage subscriptions
To send transactional emails (account confirmations, campaign updates)
To detect fraud, abuse, and security threats
To comply with our legal obligations under Australian law

We do not sell your personal information to third parties. We do not use your Instagram or TikTok data for any purpose other than operating your Scrye creator profile.

4. How we share your information

We share information only in the following circumstances:

With brands on the platform — Creator profile information, content, and metrics are visible to registered brands as part of the core matching service.
With service providers — We use third-party providers including Stripe (payments), Vercel (hosting), and Neon (database). These providers process data on our behalf under appropriate data processing agreements.
For legal compliance — We may disclose information if required by Australian law, a court order, or a government authority.
Business transfers — If Scrye Labs Pty Ltd is acquired or merges with another entity, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify users via email before any such transfer takes effect.

5. Data retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal or accounting purposes (typically 7 years for financial records under Australian law).

Instagram and TikTok data is removed from our platform within 7 days of you disconnecting the relevant account.

6. Your rights

Under the Australian Privacy Act 1988, you have the right to:

Access the personal information we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate information
Request deletion of your personal information
Complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) if you believe we have mishandled your data

7. Data deletion requests

To request deletion of your Scrye account and associated data, email adamchew2607@gmail.com with the subject line "Data Deletion Request" and your registered email address. We will process your request within 30 days.

If you connected your Instagram account and wish to have your Instagram data removed from Scrye without deleting your account, you can disconnect Instagram via Settings → Connected Accounts → Instagram → Disconnect. Your Instagram data will be removed within 7 days.

If you connected your TikTok account and wish to have your TikTok data removed, the same process applies via Settings → Connected Accounts → TikTok → Disconnect.

8. Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including HTTPS encryption, hashed passwords, and access controls. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been compromised, contact us immediately.

9. Cookies

We use essential cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party tracking cookies. You can disable cookies in your browser settings, but this may affect platform functionality.

10. Third-party platforms

Scrye integrates with Instagram (Meta Platforms Inc.) and TikTok (TikTok Pte. Ltd.). Your use of those platforms is governed by their own privacy policies. Our use of Instagram data is governed by the Meta Platform Terms. Our use of TikTok data is governed by the TikTok Developer Terms of Service.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. We will notify registered users by email at least 14 days before any material changes take effect. Continued use of the platform after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
